  • Yes. When recommending a grant through your DAF sponsor's portal, you can include a note specifying the program area, such as Early Childhood Education, Mental Health Services, or Youth Development. You can also contact our development team directly to discuss how your gift can be designated.

  • Most DAF sponsors accept a wide range of assets, including cash, publicly traded stocks and securities, mutual fund shares, restricted stock, real estate, private business interests, and cryptocurrency. Contributing appreciated assets, like stocks,  is especially tax-advantageous because you avoid capital gains tax while receiving a deduction for the full fair market value.

  • Minimums vary by DAF sponsor, but most allow grants as small as $50–$250. There is no minimum set by The Child Center of N, every dollar makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.

  • Yes. Most DAF sponsors allow you to recommend grants anonymously. The Child Center will receive the funds without your name attached, though we warmly welcome the opportunity to thank you if you choose to identify yourself.

  • Absolutely. Many donors use their DAF as a family philanthropy tool, involving spouses, children, and even grandchildren in deciding where to direct grants. It is a meaningful way to pass on charitable values across generations.

  • The Child Center of NY is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is eligible to receive grants from all major national DAF sponsors, including Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, National Philanthropic Trust, and community foundations. Simply search for our name or EIN (11-1733454) in their grant portal.
