Ruthine Codrington
Case Management Project Director: Home-Based Crisis Intervention, Step Down, Blended Case Management, all services for children at imminent risk of psychiatric hospitalization at the Ira Meyer Center
On staff since 2002 |
EXPERTISE:
Working with and advocating to ensure that family and children’s needs are met with concrete services…like housing, tutoring, and public benefits they may not know how to access.
PROUDEST MOMENT:
When children graduate from the program…knowing that they have the tools to succeed in life…knowing that there are services they are entitled to, and which we have directed them to, which can help them turn their lives around.
FAVORITE PART OF HER JOB:
Opening up new worlds for kids… so many of our kids don’t have good social skills and their parents are not aware of what’s available…we are able to open up doors with field trips to the museums and other great cultural opportunities of New York, made possible by Ronald McDonald House Charities. And, for the past seven years, we have held an annual picnic for the children and families we serve at Flushing Meadow, an opportunity for us all to celebrate a sense of achievement and growth together.
